Fairport Convention is one of the greatest live bands on today’s concert circuit. Their sell-out gigs attract critical acclaim and delight audiences. This event at London's intimate Borderline Club features the full line-up and offers a more intimate (but no less exciting!) take on the legendary band’s music. They promise a different set to that played on the 2012 Winter Tour.
The band’s repertoire mixes established favourites with brand new songs and the concert will feature Simon Nicol on guitar and lead vocals, Dave Pegg on bass and backing vocals, Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin and lead vocals, Ric Sanders on violin, and Gerry Conway on percussion.

Fairport Convention has won a coveted BBC Lifetime Achievement Award and Radio 2 listeners voted Fairport’s groundbreaking album Liege & Lief 'The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time'.
Fairport Convention were first founded in 1967 and today are widely considered as the most important group in the English folk rock movement. The album Liege and Lief was the launching pad for the launched the electric folk movement, which was ground-breaking in its day and led to the opening up of folk music in Europe. Since 1979 Fairport Convention have been hosts of the annual Cropredy Festival, which takes place in the Oxford village of Cropredy (near Banbury) traditionally two weeks before the annual Rhythm Festival in Bedfordshire.
