Fronted by the founding member, lead vocalist and key creative force of the original Wishbone Ash, Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash remains faithful to the original Wishbone Ash blueprint and, during its live concerts, performs a wide variety of material from the band’s classic album releases.
Wishbone Ash are critically regarded as one of the major innovators of the twin lead guitar harmony-rock band. Traffic magazine voted original Wishbone Ash guitarists Andy Powell and Ted Turner "Two Of The Ten Most Important Guitarists In Rock History".
Formed in 1969 in the Devon seaside town of Torquay, out of the ashes of rock trio The Empty Vessels, led by Martin Turner (bass/vocals) since 1963. The original Wishbone Ash line-up comprised Turner and drummer Steve Upton and guitarists/vocalists Andy Powell and Ted Turner. In 1974, Ted Turner left the band, and was replaced by Laurie Wisefield. The band continued on with strong critical and commercial success until 1980 and was reformed by Martin Turner in 2004 as Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash.
